what kind of times are you guy's getting?
A guy I know bought a brand new EVO RS edition and is claiming he does 11 second ET's. I know he is BS-ing but I know these cars are capable of mid 13 second 1/4 miles stock at 2,000'. What kind of times are you guy's seeing? The best I seen at the local strip was 13.5 with a good driver. New drivers to the dragstrip don't seem to get into the 13's from what I have seen and seem dissapointed- but I guess that is the usual for anyone new to the dragstrip. Mike

2005 EVO RS will run a 13.1 stock the RS is the fastest of all the EVOs sold in the US.
now the cars that are not getting 13s stock they are prolly 03/04 EVOs they only run 14.0-14.2s stock. Th 05s are faster because they are lighter(RS and MR) they run 20.5 PSI compared to 16 they have a FLSD and ACD and a 10.5 hotside..
any year with very minimal mods will pull out the 12s easy with bolt ons some sort of a tune and a boost controller.. and with bolt ons a tune boost controller and Cams it is possible to even grab a 11.7-11.9 but 11s are impossible on a stock car
Beside that im sure your buddy has no clue that is car is launch limited too. all of the 05s cant be launched at 5k or higher. unless you remove the 5K limiter. the difference between a 5K launch and a 6K launch is huge. I was reading about a guy with his MR he ran a 13.6 with it limited at the launch when he removed it and launch a 6K he pulled off a 13.2 so 4 tenths of a second better with it off.

The 13.1 time that the magazines report are from pro drivers and altitude corrrected and temperature corrected for best possible numbers( not to mention they sometimes get special cars from the manufacturer). From what I have seen in my area you have to add about a half second to the magazine times with a good driver- this is not just the EVO's but all the new cars- 05 mustangs run 14.0 here from what I have seen in stock form. I guess I am looking for real numbers and not the doctored up magazine #'s- believe me there is a big difference in the real world. Thanks for your reply to the thread. Mike

THe MR that I said ran a 13.2 was without the launch limiter and all stock other wise. The RS is faster than the MR it is alot lighter. mainly cause it has no options. ALL i can say is if he doesnt have TBE, boost controller, intake ,UPIC pipe, cams and a Utec, SAFC, Emanage, ect he wont even come close to 11s. mid- low 13s are easily accoplished but thats about it on a stock RS 05. -Mike

RE: what kind of times are you guy's getting?
After reading threads in the other forum all night- it was fun I am seeing about the same thing that I have seen at my local dragstrip- mid-13's looks like the norm on a stock 05 and some dissapointment from the owners that were expecting much better. Looks like as usual the better driver they become the better times they get. Mike
