RE: what kind of times are you guy's getting?
I seen a girl lower her ET in an 04 evo from 16.1- to 15.0 to 14.2 in her first three runs at the track. Her and her friends looked dissapointed at only getting a 14 but I am sure if she stuck with it a 13 second ET would come. Kind of fun to see new drivers with new cars at the strip .

When you guy's get near the 11.50 area are you going to put in the required roll cage to run below 11.50 at the dragstrip? With my car I am limiting myself to high 11's to keep from cutting up my interior.

No im not going to do that. Ill wait to run it and make sure I get a good time then call it quits. and maybe just go easy from there. I'd like to make it hit 10s someday but thats very far off seeing that im all stock right now

10's will take a serious effort not to mention lot's of cash and track time...........and a roll cage and probably some weight reduction but it could be a lot of fun. My R/T is 1 of 181 made so all I will do is bolt ons and do nothing that can't be put back to original in the future.

10s is not that hard of a feet to accoplish in the EVO not saying its easy but there are a hand full of mid 9s out there already and one shooting for 8s. the stock bottom end of the EVO can acheive a little over 500WHP before a buildup is nessesary. at 400WHP high 11s can be hit all day long. 400WHP can be reached with nothing more than your normal boltons a decent tune and Cams(all on the stock 16G) after that go with a new turbo and a little more boost and you are pretty darn close to running in the 10s maybe atleast the low 11 mark at that point.
You gotta keep in mind we get the traction that you dont without some good tires and suspension. The EVO should be able to pull low 1.8s and 1.7s in the 60' without any trouble. but that is a drivers game there.
I am going to have my EVO for very long time so I am in no rush to reach the milestones I want. I am not planning on anything to extreme till the warrenty is almost gone anyway. thats 60K for me and Im only at 16k. so we will see where it takes me

I admire the EVO and it's capabilities to go very quick- thats why I joined this forum so I could learn more. I know these cars are very capable of getting in the 10's but from what I have seen it takes a serious effort to get any car like this in the 10's. At my local track I have only seen one turbo-4 car go in the 10's all summer long and it blew up on it's second run.

Here's a link to a time on dragtimes.com of 10.9 @132 on an EVO. There are a couple others listed in the 10's as well but this guy lists his mods and has a link to his website so you can see what it takes to get this low of a time and keep it together. Race pistons,rods,crank,30PSI boost, 100HP shot of nitrous and much more. http://www.dragtimes.com/Mitsubishi-...slip-6259.html
