Default X?

was wondering what people thought of the difference between the IX vs. X evo models. Heard from friends talking that the IX is way more solid than the X. of course the newer model's engine is built differently and things like that. Just curious, I'm not really an evo guy but just wanted to know.

The evo x is a bit slower then the ix but handles very well and so far responds well to mods. I personally like the viii and ix better but the x has been growing on me.

The IX was the last generation of the 4G63, and the X features the new 4B11 engine.

Another main difference is the electronics that allow for the cars agility.

As well as some added weight, the car is also offered in a twin clutch paddle shift transmission.

Incase you havn't noticed, the styling is also entirely different.

the 4b11 in the X hosts and alluminum block, where the 4g63 in the VIII and IX are cast which is proven to be much stronger in most cases however the 4b11 has yet to see its limits as it is so new.

also under the hood the turbo in the X sits in the rear of the engine bay. the VIII and IX are in front. The X features S-YAW controll which give the car out of this world handling abilities where the IX and VIII only got S-YAW in JDM Markets in only the FQ versions.

as far as 1/4 times if that is your interest the VIII and IX are far better, but autox and road course the X is better.all around they are all great cars and all have strong points but they all perform well all around and all take well to mods

Not to mention if 1/4 times are your interest, you shouldn't be looking at an EVO anyway lol

not technically but its not like they are not drag monsters though. they are just made for the corners not the straights

i don't really think about 1/4 times or drag that much if at all. thanks for all your guys responses. this is quite some good info.
at first when i saw the X at the LA auto show i passed it up, partly because of the reddish color they displayed. then after seeing the car in black, white and also in the JUN hyper lemon yellow it started to grow rapidly on me.
do you guys think the X is gonna have the same clutch, tcase, and other such issues the viii and ix have? that is a concern if i am thinking about buying one.
of course evo's are maintenance ******, but have there been any issues with the X? that you guys know of?

the drivetrain is all new. much improved on a proformance basis but reliablity who knows at this point. The VIII and IX dont have trouble really. if you take care of them it will be fine. They just require fluid changes more often than your avereage street car.
