02 galant v6 rough idle???
hey so ive had my first mitsu for about 2 months and im just sinking alot of money into it...
so here is the info as galant center is down and seems to be useless anyway...
since i got the car it would run the a/c for a few minutes and the engine would start running rough, i tried evac and recharge "at ase shop" and no change
i had replaced my dist. cap and rotor, had to remove the battery to do so. when i was finished the car would not stay running, it would rev up like its starting then just drop down and stall out, i fixed this by initially helping it idle until it could on its own.
i had the timing belt and waterpump replaced the day after, when i got it back it had a new noise that would be kinda loud when first starting cold, then would go away for the rest of the day, this happens everyday...
the current issue im having is the car will idle roughly almost all the time now, it started out random and in short spurts once i let it idle rough then the idle popped up almost like it starting and began running great again, but now its always running rough, drives fine just idles bad there is a funky smell in the engine compartment when it runs rough but not to strong.
so i did some digging, and with all the symptoms combine "besides the noise" i came to replacing the idle air control, so i got one and it made the idle a little higher and i can tell it runs better but its still running rough, and the a/c issue didnt go away as well. anyway my initial test drive it still ran rough and i then parked it, my drive to the shop went a bit smoother, but i noticed the idle was higher then my first test drive, so it seems the computers trying to learn the new iac? anyway its at the shop now but im running out of patience with them and need some help...
