Default 03 Galant Battery light

Ok, so this has been a very frustrating problem for me. My car was hesitating once in a while upon accelleration. It was far worse when the a/c was on so I figured the alternator was going. So I swapped out the alternator and did the belts at the same time. After that when the car idles the battery and brake lights come on, but go away as soon as you press the gas. I have put another new alternator and a new battery in and it's the same problem. There's about 80,000 miles on the car and I'm at the end of my rope with what to do.

are you using mitsu alternators? Aftermarket ones are ALL pure junk.

by the way, the original complaint most likely has NOTHING to do with the alternator.

You probabaly have a broken wire from the alternator to the cluster.

Closely check the condition of the negative battery cable. Mine got really rusty at the terminal at the battery and looked like it was about to fall apart. Was even rusty around 8 inches down where it temporarily bolts to the body before continuing down in to the oblivion of wiring. I ended up putting a splice kit on the top 6 inch section for $10. Since doing that, my weird little gremlins have stopped. I had lights arbitrarily dimming, ABS light popping on now and then, radio acting funny among other weird stuff. No issues since the fix.
Had a Stratus a few years ago with battery light issues and it turned out being the neg cable as well.
Good luck
