03 Galant V6, stalls when cold, runs fine when warm
Hey guys, hoping for a little help!!
03 Galant ES V6.
My fiance called me yesterday from the house saying her car would not start. Got to the house, started it and the only way to keep it running was to keep giving it gas. If you let off the gas, it would die almost immediately. First thought was maybe a gunked up throttle body. Pulled that apart and it was pretty nasty so I cleaned that up. All back together, same issue. Checked all vacuum hoses that I could see, no visible issues, can't hear any air leaking.
Seems as though the IACV goes bad on these vehicles quite often. Is there a way to clean that or does it just need to be replaced? They are PRICEY!!! Would that be a good place to start?
This didn't really happen out of the blue. She had been complaining for a couple days that when she would slow down, it seemed like it wanted to die but didn't ever completely quit. Also, the idle is very low, around 500 rpms once warmed up.
Thanks for all the help guys, I could use any suggestions you might have!!!
