I just got a 1971galant it’s a 1400 and I’m going to get rid of it what’s a good motor I want as much power as I can but want to try to put something that fits with as little hassle as possible

 

I would look into a late 80's model 2.0 SOHC. I'm not sure what all cars came with them, but I have an 88 or 89 Colt Vista 4WD in my garage with this engine in it and it is what I am going to try and beef up before stuffing it in my 1982 Plymouth Champ. The deminsions of the engines are very similar, similar cooling system layout, and what looks to be an identical bell housing bolt pattern. It has fuel injection, and supposedly some forged internals that will all help with my plan to slap a Turbski on it. I hope this is some good advice on what direction to go in if it's what you'd like to do!
