I have forward and reverse but the car is stuck in high gear no matter where I place the auto trans shifter. I understand this is a electronic controlled unit and I checked the fuse. That was OK. Any idea where I could find the shifter control module?

I had this problem with my old 96 Galant S. It wouldn't downshift. Ended up getting it rebuilt. The day I was to drop it off at the dealership It would slip and finally not work at all. They told me I needed a new transmission at $7k. I brought it across the street where they told me the transmission was bad and a rebuild was $1600. I picked it upa few weeks later, and the guy had 3 other Galant with the same problem. When I traded that in for my 2000 my salesman told me he sees alot of them from this year with bad trannies.
