Default 1996 Galant Timing belt replacement procedure?

Hi Folks. I'm helping a friend replace the water pump on his 96 Galant, 2.4 ltr 4 cylinder. We're in the process of putting it back together and have hit a snag with the timing belt tensioner. We're using the Haynes manual and the procedure to apply the proper amount of tension to the timing belt is not clear. Obviously we want to get this part right. So does anyone out there have any experience with this procedure? Any advice appreciated.

just did timing & pump R&R on '95 LS, the tensioner should do it for you, just pull wire pin out and the spring load on the tensioner should do the rest. I've got the Haynes manual but unable to locate it just now, rennovating garage. will post when i locate it.
