Need some advice,

My daughter experienced a problem with her Galant today. I am describing it as she explained it to me. She first noticed her radio cutting out, she then noticed the blinker was going faster than usual and her tachometer went blank. She pulled over and parked the car and turned the ignition off. She then cranked the car again and tried to move it. She said the car hesitated and then lurched forward several times. The tach was still out and the turn signal was blinking very fast. She turned the car off again. She tried once more to crank the car and it would not crank. When I got there about an hour later, I was able to crank the car right up and I moved it to a nearby parking lot and parked it. I did not notice any of the problems explained to me by my daughter but did not trust to let her get it back on the road. Has anyone heard of a situation like this? I'm thinking something like the computer. I bought the car used a few years ago and don't know much about this car. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Very odd. Sounds like an ECU malfunction.

 

Alternator belt was gone, shredded to pieces. Replaced the belt and all is well.
