96 Galant stalls after tranny install

96 Galant stalls after tranny install
OK a friend of mine has a 96 Galant S. The car is on its 2nd motor witch is a 94. Its also on its 2nd 96 tranny. The problem is when the car is taken out of park and into any other gear besides neutral it stalls. Any info/advice would be appreciated.

What kind of fluid is in the transmission?
Sounds like the transmission you installed could be bad. I bet you $1 it wouldn't do that if the car was rolling at a decent pace before you dumped it in drive. The torque converter could be stuck.
