im looking at a 99 galant es with 130,000miles on it as my first car, i know it needs a sunroof motor and a drivers window motor, my dad is a mechanic and i trust him but he seems to think parts would be expensive, im gonna get him to lookat it to see of there are any engine problems, but if parts would be expensive i wont...what are your thoughts? they want 2200 for it but i could talk her down im sure...other then parts any known problems with that year or should i go for it if the motor is fine?

 

Hi, first of all, parts was expensive long time ago, now importing to anything from everywhere is just easy and cheap, thats why parts have same prices as other vehicles,so dont worry about it. Which motor this galant have?

 

Make sure you find out when the timing belt was changed last. Other than that, the cars are pretty good, look around, you still see plenty of them on the roads, they last

 

im going saturday to look at another galant, this one is an 01 with approx 120k on it and they want around 2k for it, depending on its conditions i might try to talk them down, but hopefully this one will become my first car !!!
