Default Advice for new kid

Hello eveyone.
I wondered if people could offer me a little general advice as I like galants but know next to nothing about them.
Ive seen a 98 2.5v6 with 80k miles fmsh which I am quite tempted by.
What are they like to drive/live with?
Would this car need a constant stream of repair?
Are parts expensive?
What should I look for before I buy?
Many Thanks

Default RE: Advice for new kid

the kind of car it is is determined by how it was broken in and cared for.

the golden rule is, you get what you pay for.

If the price is outrageously low, be ready to put more money into it for repairs.

I have a used 2000 Galant es which i like. Its roomy and easy to drive. Good on fuel economy and doesnt attract thieves or vandals. A basic no frills car. The Fluids are changed regularly, sea foam applied annually, spark plugs and fuel filter changed annually.

The only things needing replacement now is the timing belt, front shock mounts, all four shocks. This I hope to push off until mid summer.
