Hi All,

Ive just bought a legnum JDM auto, after driving half a mile the handbrake light comes on and the anti lock light i think (yellow light with car that looks like its skiding) starts flashing, any ideas whats causing this as the receipts say the disc have been change in the last year.

incidentally is the legnuim brake set up the same as the gallants?

 

The ABS lights could mean that the ABS sensor(s) are bad or going bad or may have a loose connection.
The handbrake light may be on because of a poorly adjusted e-brake shoe.

...or you may have low brake fluid, bad brake fluid, air bubbles in your brake fluid, etc. From my experience with brakes and their lights is that when both are on, it has to do with the brake fluid, ABS, vacuum line, pads/shoes (worn or misaligned/poorly adjusted), ABS sensor, or brake cylinder.
Also note that the ABS equipped cars need to have the key in the on position so that the ABS pump is on when bleeding the brakes.

 

Cheers have to start looking at the breaking system then bit by bit!!!!!!!!!!
what is the light symbol though is it traction control, a yellow light, symbol of a car with skid lines coming of it, best i can describe it....its on the right hand side set of light clusters neart he top.

Its probably traction control, visually inspect the abs wheel speed sensors and take a good look at the tone ring on the axle. They can crack and give you problems.
