brake pads
My mother in law has a 2003 Mitsubishi galant, Auto, and needs her frontbrake pads changed....is this a simple diy procedure? Do the brakes need to be bled?

RE: brake pads
If your doing the pads should be pretty simple and srtaight forward, you'll need something to push the piston into the brake caliper.

RE: brake pads
No, you will not need to bleed the brakes. Just make sure you top off the brake resevoir if it needs to be. But, if you want to bleed it, you can.

RE: brake pads
thanks guys for the reply. I know on my saturn bleeding the brakes insn't needed for changing the pads but I haven't ever done this on a mitsubishi....and I've never bled the brakes on any car.....not something I want to do unless I have to.

RE: brake pads
you really dont have to bleed the breaks on any car if you are changing the pads. now if you change the calipers that is a diffrent story with a diffrent ending

RE: brake pads
Well it turns out the rotors were a bit grooved because she drove on them longer than she should haveso we had to take it to a shop so they could machine them .... but thanks again for everyones input.

RE: brake pads
Well you could have taking the rotors off and have a shop machine them, would have saved you some $$$.
