I have a stock muffler and i really hate it..its too quiet and looks stupid...i dont have the money to buy a WHOLE exhaust system...so can i just buy a muffler seperate? If i just buy a muffler i wont gain ANY horsepower right? just sound? Thanks guys...

i would say to pick up a flowmaster, have your old muffler cut off and weld the flowmaster on. it will sound great and benefit maybe 5hp. surely not enough to feel on the but dyno but you will definitely love it. i did this to my intrepid and the sound it made was awesome. i loved that car, i can still remeber the days when civics and v6 camaros would have the look of astonishment when i would pass them up

 

I'm thinking maybe 2-3 hp gain, but what's that? something i guess.

 

You'll get more gain by going with a catback system instead of just the muffler.

 

Yah im not really out to race anybody, i just want a better look and sound...how much do places usually charge to do stuff like welding on a new muffler? i dont wanna spend a LOT...im gunna ask for a new muffler and stuff for christmas, a nice intake, maybe headers too...

PS. What do you guys think of the big mufflers on ebay? like i said im not looking for HP gain really...just sound and looks...so would one of those 40 dollar mufflers do the job??
