Default Flywheel replacement for 2006 Galant

The flywheel on my 2006 Galant (2.4 engine) needs replaced due to damaged teeth. My mechanic tells me that the flywheel is attached to the torque converter and I would have to replace that. But I find on used car part sites a lot of matches for a flywheel/flexplate for this model, but no matches for a torque converter. Can anybody tell me if I need to buy a used/rebuilt torque converter or can I just replace the flywheel/flexplate. If I need to replace the torque converter, where can I find a cheap used or rebuilt one?

Thanks
