Default My Galant is a battery killer... Sick and Tired

Let's see... I bought a 2000 Galant ES in 2002. Now has 179K It has been great with one exception... Every 1.5 years (because it's metric) I have to replace the battery. The car runs perfect once replaced, I have check the alternator (using the negative cable, and still runs method). The electrical system passes with flying colors every time. Checked the pos battery cable/terminal with multimeter when the car was off, and I'm not getting excessive amperage there. I have had no problems with the starter, or other relays (all original).

No, I drive it almost every day. The battery quits very suddenly, and no amount of re-charging will bring it back.

Hmm, Interesting points. The only modification I have made is the K&N filter charger. Everything else is stock. ie. No DVD or any extras. In a given year I put on about 12K I have freeway driving one direction that is about 15 miles, with a mile of stop and go on each end. In that freeway driving I typically drive between 75 and 80 (San Diego Standard highway speed).

Now you brought up two interesting prospects. My remote keyless fob quit working about 9 months ago. Never bothered to mess with it. I just use the key. The car was killing batteries before that system failed...

The AC control module... How do I check that?
