Default No instrument panel light and tail lights

No instrument panel light and tail lights on 96 Misubishi Galant. Dimmer switch also does not work. Replaced the blown fuse for tail light but the replacement blew again. No after market parts installed. Issue started happening after battery has died down due to headlights being accidentally left on. How can I get the lights working again?

I have a 2000 Galant and am having the same problem, we replaced the relay, and everything worked once and quit again. Another new relay didn't fix it. We could turn the light switch on and off a few times and then they would work for a while but have since stopped working altogether. We have looked into forums and have seen wiring problems on some cars and have checked all that as good as possible (wiring along chassis and under back seat) and all seems good that we can see. We have checked all fuses and bulbs and all are good. Any other ideas or info? Please help.

gotta find out why that fuse is blowing. something is shorted in that circuit. that fuse controls all of the lights in question. when that fuse is blown the lights wont work. plain and simple. i have seen over the years rheostats that have been shorted causing that fuse to pop, also i found a few times one of the sockets for the taillamps/brake lights had melted where the bulb end and the socket meet. have to take each bulb out and inspect. good luck.
