Default O2 sensor location mixup, need help!

Hello fello galantiers

I had the O2 code, went online to find out which side (it's downstream, for sure) and was informed it was the front (radiator side). Put one in, and voila!, light came back on..... I should have noted where I found this, but I didn't, so can't comment back.

Went back online, this time found the following:

The bank 1 sensor 2 is the sensor after the precat on the cylinder head with the #1 spark plug . The bank 1 is the cylinder nearest the firewall. The top one you see is bank 1 sensor1. The sensor you are trying to replace is just for monitoring the converter and has nothing to do with fuel management.
The knock sensor is what you see in the middle of the motor between the heads. I'd buy the sensor from Mitsubishi if I was you.

Admittedly, that answer was for a Galant 2001 6 cyl, mines a 2002 6 cyl, so I would think that's the same, RIGHT????

So, apparantly I was misguided in my first attempt: instead of being on the radiator side, it's on the firewall side.

Can someone please............... CONFIRM FOR ME.
THANK YOU!
