Default power hick-ups

my 89 galant will randomly lose all power... sometimes for a split second and sometimes for like 10 seconds. i push on the gas and nothing... the rpms slowly drop until the power comes back, which it always does. someone told me it could be the crankshaft position sensor, but im still looking for other less expensive answers. can anyone help?

not sure if the problem is the same i just took my 99 galant to the shop because it had bad studdering especially when the AC was on. Sitting idol it was somewhat ok. it wounded up being the ignition coil over the spark plugs. it cost me 240 to have them repace one along with the other wires and plugs. The part cost under 200 each they suggested i replace both but it is only two screws i will do the other myself.

check ignition systems ( i.e. wires, coil packs etc...) and maybe, maybe fuel system.
