Default Problematic 07' Galant

First, had to replace the transmission at 80K, girlfriend had bought the car used back in 08, before we started dating. Seems to be one thing after another with this car. The air went out right after tranny replaced, A/C light is flashing, now it's throwing the code P0401 after I changed brakes/caliper's. Maybe a coincidence, maybe related. I didn't touch anything other than the brakes. Did have to have a shop bleed the system, apparently you can't manually bleed this car.

So code P0401 has something to do with the EGR.

sorry to hear of your misfortune. the galant has been a reliable staple in the mitsubishi fleet. problems do happen though. i would bet my second to last dollar that the condensor has developed a leak in the upper right hand corner. (passengers side). VERY common problem with the a/c system on that body style of galant. secondly, p0401 is a EGR flow code. on the 07 model galant only there is a reflash available for the pcm that will address this issue. unfortunately you have to go to the dealer for this. TSB-10-13-006 is the service bulletin number. its for the 07 galant 2.4 litre engine only. hope this helps.
