Default Whirring / Ticking sound when Idling?

I'm updating this because I realized something new.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant and recently it started making a whirring sound with a sort of tick to it when it is idling. It stays the same while coasting, but when I accelerate, the sound becomes faster.

Another thing I noticed just before it started making this sound is that the ride became a bit jerkier than usual. Pick up and coasting slightly less smooth.

Would this be a problem with one of the belts? Any insights? All help appreciated!
