Default 03 Lancer cranks but won't fire

Hello all, hoping to get a little wisdom from the forum. I have an 03 Lancer 2.0L, It sat unused for about two weeks, after which it would crank but not fire. I have a code reader, but there were no codes in the system. My backyard mechanic father thinks the ECM has gone bad. I tried to look online but couldn't really find how to remove/replace the ECM, though I think it's behind the glovebox. I have three questions:

1) Where is the ECM and how do I remove it?
2) If I took the ECM to a dealer, would they be able to test it and see if it's working?
3) If it's not the ECM, what else might it be?

Thank you everyone!

I am a little late to this, but the ECU is behind the glovebox on the left side, it is held in by 3 bolts. It is pretty simple to get out. I ended up replacing one from a junk yard along with a crank position sensor (someone broke the sensor and shorted the ECU), the issue for me is that the dealer will not help at all...
