RE: 08 Lancer
well dont forget that the chasis is shared with a few chryslers. i was trying to basically say that it drives like a new car, but its boring. my girl owned a neon for 45,000 trouble free miles(the last couple miles...not so much!) and it was slow and boring...just like the new lancer.

RE: 08 Lancer
I think Mitsu did a great job making the Lancer compete with the WRX in terms of style, but as far as performance goes it gets left in the dust. I can't belive that Mitsubishi would do that to their new Lancer seeings how it was designed to steal the thunder away from the WRX (in sales figures). This leads me to think that either Mitsu will be making a turbo version (that is not the Evo) or they left plenty of room for the after market to turbo the new Lancer. What do you guys think? Am I dreaming or does this make sence? I know if I could get the new Lancer with a turbo that makes power similar to the WRX that I'd run to the dealer. Would anyone follow me?

This car might feel like a slouch when you first step on the pedal, but hold it down and you will feel it take off. When I got the car I did not think it was going to be as fast as it is. But I was quite surprised. I also have a scion TC which is must faster starting from a complete stand still. But when the Lancer is moving it feels just as fast, if not faster.

Lancer, share a neon platfor? are you feeling ok? the neon is not fun at all to drive, and the lancers are the best handling cars out there... the only thing that shared things is the avenger with the 2g, also the shared 420a engine....

the mivec kicks in at about 3500-4000 rpm on my car and its surprising how fast i got to 100mph!!! I hardly hear the engine at that much rpm but you can barely hear it (with the radio off.) Comparing the new Lancer to the neon is crazy, in my opinion.

I read this today in a free Auto Mart Guide:
"Recent discoveries have also unfurled plans of a GSX model, which picks up where the old third-generation Eclipse left off. According to those in the know, this is the car that will gun the Subaru Impreza WRX down, with a turbocharged version of the Lancer's 2.0-liter inline-four boasting 250 horsepower, plus all-wheel drive."
