Default 2008 Lancer HP numbers?

You know how Mitsubishi says that the HP rating for the 2008 Lancer is 152 hp with 146 lb/ft of tourque? And you know how most companies *cough*almosteveryautomaker*cough* says Flywheel hp? So my point is, our 2008 Lancer is actually advertised as WHP, not flywheel. And as proof:

http://features.evolutionm.net/attac...lancerdyno.pdf

Now that's a dyno of a Stock 2008 Lancer with CVT. So the manual might just be a little higher and we'll assume the car hasn't been properly been broken in either (If broken in properly, it's would at least have a couple of more ponies). So with that information, the flywheel hp would actually be in the 160 hp range if not more. Now I know I'm only talking about 10 hp, but that will still make a difference in performance when you want the most ponies you can get!

Anyone agree?

The difference will be about 15% more... and with a CVT i think more like 20% more... so add 20% onto 141 and you get like 169... i think thats a likely number

the HP ratings are quite accurate from the manufacturers, especially with the new SAE standards.

I also noticed something weird. It costs less to insure a Nissan 350Z than this car ( Mitsu costs $93 a month, Nissan costs $86).

Hell, even the 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX costs less to insure ($72!)

Why is the insurance so high on a car that is only 152 hp AND with 7 airbags?!

Wow, my insurance is $190/mo. Clean driving record & no claims, too. Probably has to do with the seattle area's bad drivers But it is weird that its only *slightly* less than what I was quoted for insurance on a 07 350Z.

Also, I thought it was 9, not 7, airbags. (1) Steering wheel, (2) driver's knee, (3) driver's side curtain, (4) driver's seat, (5)passenger, (6) passenger side curtain, (7) passenger's seat, and (8,9) two in the rear.

Nope, 7 airbags only... isn't 9 just a little bit of over kill?!

Well, safety wise, great! There's a point though that if you crash, you feel absolutely nothing at all. What's the point in that? Now I know some of you think I'm crazy, but I want to be at least a little banged up because I'll remember the experience of being in a crash (I havn't been in one thankfully) and I want to make sure I can prevent it next time.

Plus there's a point about weight of the car... haha

Anyways, so Flywheel HP is guestmated at 169 Hp, which is good.
