i have an 08 gts. while at the dealership last week i went to the service dept. and asked about having the 6 disc cd changer installed.

the tech said they do not actually change the unit ,they just add a harness to the single and it becomes the 6 disc !

said they would charge about 250$ to make the change.

i asked specifically that the whole unit is not pulled out and the tech said , "absolutely not".

........any one else know about this ? ? ? thanks.

 

Now I know why their is a "Load" on my ES Lancer I tried pressing it but it only load 1 disc and I think it's the same with the Blue tooth they just add some wirings and then all set to use. Just too much for$250.00

 

does anyone know what a "fair" price would be to get the single disc unit "converted' to 6 disc ? ?

i know, i know, just buy a better stereo.......

i don't want the complications of finding something i like that is compatable.
i just want to have more cd stored in the player.............

 

any word on gettin the rockford system installed and what a price might be like? the initial power on the base cd player isn that great, jus wonderin what the difference mite be

 

You can't justbuy after market cd player and installed it on your 2008 Lancer.

The 1 dc player is ON 2008 Lancer isRockford Fosgate it can be added with 6 disc.

Why would Mitsu get another brand of cd player if the Rockford Fosgate is better.

 

It will cost you $300.00 or more to install it with asub woofer.
I don't recommend it to People with Kids especially with babies

It will really make them deaf. very loud

 

i ment the rockford system that mitsu offers for the car, since the gts was fairly hard to find around here with the sunroof and system package, i went with a gts without it, so it jus has the regular cd player, 1 disc, was wonderin if anyone knew anything about gettin the better system from the dealer and how much it would cost, n i dun have kids(that i know of), so theres no worries about it bein to loud, lol, but ya, thanks
