Default About 2008 Mitsu Lancer Recall

I calledthe Mitsubishi dealer they said the window rear sash has to be replace but not life threatening. I moved my daughter's car seat in the middle just in case something happen but I trust Mitsu with their cars. Just a simple problem to make the car more durable during collisions and crash test done by the government recently ask Mitsu to fix a small problem.

I had a 1999 Mitsu Mirage and the recalls on this car is much life threatening like the "Underdrive Pulleys might come off during acceleration"

Unfortunately after driving the car for more than 130,000 miles the pulleys are still intact and I didn't RIP.

Don't worry guys the 2006 Honda has more recalls than our beloved Lancer.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ncap/cars/4141.html

Check this web site.... if you have a baby time to moved her/him in the middle seat for now but the rating of the crash is 4 star with a little concern on the rear door when hit by a car on the side. It will open.

But Mitsu is fixing the problem and fix your car ASAP.

Personally, I dont think anything that has to do with safety is a stupid mistake, IMO.

What do you mean anything to do with safety is not a stupid mistake?

Remember the door got hit on a 40 mph test? Just imagine if the other car is doing 65 mph. where do you think a rear passenger willend up when the car get hit on a 65 mph. especially if the car will get hit with a van with pipes or wood on top of it. all of those will be going inside the car.

That's why a lot of car manufacturer advise car owners to lock the door while driving because the car might flip over or hit from the side and everyone in that car will be all over the street.

That's maybe the reason why there's a rear sit belt installed in the car, to get you nowhere but still sitting in the car if you are buckled up.

Anyone has any idea of what part is the rear quarter window sash? This is the newly designed part after the side impact test.
