Adding a sub to the 09 Lancer
Just got a 09 Lancer GT that come with the Fosgate system. I have a really good sub and sub-amp left over from last car. I am wondering how I can wire the sub-amp to the fosgate. Tried to search for FSM but no luck. Is there any connection in the trunk that I can use instead of taking out the head unit from the dash?
Thanks.
Thanks.
If you are going to leave the head unit as is AND the Fosgate "AMP" under the driver seat then you will have to get pro help I dont think you can keep the stock amp and piggyback another amp to it. The way I did it was eliminate Fosgate "AMP" use a JL-Audio Cleansweep to eliminate the sound processing of the head unit THEN you can use your amp with new sub. Also REMOVE the old sub ASAP because it is a 1 ohm sub and it will BLOW rather quickly when powered by new amp. Trust me..hehe.
guido28,
Thanks for the reply. That Fosgate amp must be quite an amp since it can drive the 1 ohm sub. I am hoping the amp is hiding in the trunk so that I can split the RCA signal from the head-unit by a Y-splitter to the Fosgate amp and the extra amp, running the stock amp/sub and the addition amp/sub in parallel.
