Default ECM-problem ?

Don´t know if this the correct place for this question ....anyhow

Any good suggestions for treatment of my MB Lancer 1,8 GTI with following apperance:
- after the engine have beeen working proparly and beeing stopped, trying to start again, starter-motor running ok , but the engine running temporary on 2-3 cylinders. Only way to get it running is to remove the terminalconnection on the battery for a while and then connect and operate the ignition-key. Then it´s working ok until it´s switched off and you try starting again .
Seems that the powerbreak resets the electronicsystem . Is this an indication that the ECM-module is not working ok ? Fairly expensive unit so any other possible step recommended ?

If replacing the ECM , would a unit with code E2T33480A work ok replacing the existing with code
E2T35878 ?.

Default RE: ECM-problem ?

Why not pick up an ECM from a salvage yard or even online store? Probably half the price (or less) compared to dealers/retailers. Doesn't take much to install anyway.
