That being said w/ 45k or so on it, it was time for brakes, Turned the rotors, new Autozone pads, and now they growl like crazy...I tried to search some and had no luck...I am a mechanic, and it is driving me nuts...any help...bad pads? or is there recalls? anything can help thanks.

I guess this is not a problem, since I also changed my original brembo pads to raceing pads and I percieved that there is no brake force when it is cold, It must be warmed up by 4-5 strong long brakings before action, but once they are warm they scream like hell at every braking. I got used to is, moreover I like it now since I think it sounds sporty. Be warned also that cheap quality pads are not race pads and they tend to be loud simply because they contain to much metal- mostly copper, and not enough resin and other components like ferrodol.

Are they semi metalic pads or metalic? If you bought the cheapest pads, they are usually made with the cheapest blend and have more metal in them than the normal pads. The metal on metal is probally what you are hearing.

I, AGREE....SOME PADS ARE SO CHEAP, IT WILL GRIND ( COLD PAD ) DURING COLD RUN. WARM IT UP AND DUST WILL KICK.

high performance pads tend to make a lot more noise in general
