im lookin

RE: im lookin
I don't own one, but when my car was getting serviced I got one as a loaner (2005 ES). It really depends on what you are coming from driving now if anything, how much money you want to spend on mods, and how much you want to spend on the car and insurance. I disliked the transmission more than the engine in the ES, it was an auto trans unfortunately. It is not a fast car, but it'll get you where you need to go and there are mods out there for them which will deliver pretty good numbers. If you don't want to do a lot of work to it, look at an 04+ Ralliart Lancer, it is 162 HP/TQ and they are running just about an 8 second 0-60, I believe it's actually in the 7 second range, but they readily accept mods

Like dirtwagon said, if you need power the ralliart is a better choice, tho it cost more. I think it has around a 7.5 sec 0 to 60 time. As for 02-03 lancers...i drive a 02 ES stick, and i love it. Would I like it to be faster? Of course. There really arent that many cars you can beat in a race with this car, so if thats your passion youll be dumping mad money into the engine. But overall, with 120 horses and 130 lb ft of torque, it has adequate get up and go for its size. There have been days when i got speeding tickets without trying, just cruising and it turns out i was going 20 over. What little power it does have really has to be revved out of the engine, i would imagine the automatic would be more sluggish, tho i cant say for sure. Basically, if youre looking for EVO performance, the lancer doesnt compare whatsoever (but then again, few cars do). But itll get you up to speed on the highway nicely and is great for a daily driver.
