Just got my Lancer EX GT 2.0L 2009. Question?
I got it in Mica Black. amazing car.
Just wondering, is it true that I don't need to drive slow the first 1000 kilometeres? coz they run in the car at the factory these days unlike the past days where you had to drive at low speeds during the first 1000 - 5000 kilometeres?
is it dangerous to floor it now or will that damage the engine?
please advice....

RE: Just got my Lancer EX GT 2.0L 2009. Question?
Take it easy and I know you will. Because is a new car and learning to drive a Lancer takes time.
Why learn to drive even though you know how to drive? Because the Lancer is a very tricky car you will find out when you drive more than 65 mph on highways.
And be careful it has a high torque stir when the roads are not even. it tends to sway to the right.
They drift toojust to let you know. It is kind of fun sometimes but scary if you don't know to control the Lancer.
When the road is wet the stock tires are very good and but when it snows you feel like driving on air.
The Lancer wants to be treated rough. Gas Mileage? A full tank should get you around 300 to 350 miles or 400 miles if you are a slow driver but it is acceptable for a gas mileage

RE: Just got my Lancer EX GT 2.0L 2009. Question?
Front wheel drive does drift especially if its unintentional when mother nature give you the drift. especially on ice/snow and wet roads. I have several experiences
But someprofessional drifters used Front Wheel Drive cars.
The Cobalt SS is one of them. check You Tube you will see

Man i have a 2002 Lancer OZ and am in alaska. I swear in the winter it is drift heaven up here. i will purposly yank that e brake and slide through corners and into parking spots. It is awesome. it has even saved me from ending up in a ditch a few times though. it is a good car.
