Default RE: Lancer evo 03~05

the 2003 EVO has the weakest drivetrain mainly transfer case problems. the 04s are no different from the 03s except some less problems all 03\04s run a 14.0 1\4mile. the 05 has three different models the RS, VIII, and MR ok the RS is the fastest but has the least options(no wing ect) the RS runs a 13.1 in the 1\4mile. The MR is the next fastest it runs a 13.3 it has a 6spd rather than a 5spd it has bilsten suspention, acitve center differencial, limited slip differencial, different rims from other models and a few more options, The VIII is the mid range it is the slowest running a 1/4 in 13.4 all 05s have a 10.5 hotside rather than the 03/04 turbos only had a 9.8 hotside. The 05s did not come with HID headlights it became an additional option also 05s had leather as an option. All years have very weak clutches that last on average between 25-40K(depending if you launch it alot)

The main difference in the speed between the years is the hotside being larger and the 05 EVOs pull and hold about 20.5 PSI up till redline the 03/04s pull 19 and taper off to 16 at about 5000RPMs

I have an 03 with 22K on it at the moment and had 0 trouble other than tires wear out very fast. if you dont do 6K launches all teh time the car will last just fine.
