I just bought a 2011 Lancer Sportsback and am trying to configure the door chimes when I lock my car remotely with the key. I've been reading the manual and found the following steps. When I tried to perform these steps, I do not see any changes when lock the door remotely with my key. In addition, I also do not see any prompts or acknowledgement that I had reconfigured my settings on the electronic dashboard.

These are the steps I have followed as described in the user manual:

1. Remove the key from the ignition switch
   
2. Open the driver's door and turn off the combination head-lights and dimmer switch to the "OFF" position
   
3. Press the UNLOCK button (2) for 4 to 10 seconds and press the LOCK button (1) during this time
   
4. Release in sequence the UNLOCK and LOCK buttons within 10 seconds of pressing the LOCK button in step 3
