MMCS Hard drive upgrade
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to read and/or answer my question.
So. I have a 2012 Lancer SE with the MMCS. I've plucked out the drive, unlocked, made an image (sector-by-sector), and attempted to dump the image onto a Transcend TS64GPSD330 64GB PATA SSD. All went well, 'cept that the drive refuses to work if the jumper isn't set to master. The MMCS' connector covers all 48 pins, so a jumper is not viable.
The MMCS happily locked the SSD, but it would not start. I think the error was 'soon reboot' or similar.
My question is: Any PATA SSD out there known to work with the MMCS? Is there a way to modify this to work in the MMCS? I could open the SSD cover and short the pins from the back, but would that damage the MMCS or confuse it in any way?
Failing an SSD (it's not for speed as much as for reliability), what's a good, automotive grade drive that I could snag? Mine's currently a Toshiba 40GB.
Thanks.
