Yo peeps, i just bought an 03 lancer OZ...I dont have money to updgrade it cause im payin for it...but im lookin for something thats really cheap to boost it just a little, im thinkin maybe a cold air intake, im basically just putting one aftermarket part, im just tryin to squeeze an extra bit outta it....any ideas? im lookin to spend below the 200 dollar range

 

Find a nice cold air (dont buy ebay cheap stuff) a cold air you will feel a slight difference and make the car alot louder up high on the RPMs.

 

injen cold air system, magnaflow exhaust system, hyper ground system and hyper voltage system....hmmm figure about $800.00 so, for now, stick w/ C.A.I.

 

I had a cold air intake on my 03 Lancer that I just got. I took it off and put back on the K&N Short Ram because there was NO difference in feel or sound. I just dont think the 03 OZ lancer is set up for cold air right. most cold air intakes that i have seen on my friends cars including their civics are one pipe, where as the Injen is two with the air box in the middle. Not only is hydrolock a serious issue if you get ANY RAIN AT ALL.... but there is no sound change and only a slight power increase at 5K RPM's. Also the throttle Lag because of the distance the air has to travel was making me go insane!!!!

I would stick with all the upgrades listed above but save yourself the head ache of a CAI on a lancer... just not worth it.
