RPM over 7000 HELP!!!!!!!

Default RPM over 7000 HELP!!!!!!!

HI, Today in my way back from work , I engade my self in a race with a Civic SI, I was doing 60 Mph at the time in 5th gear, went a SI came from my right at fast speed, I down shift to 4th and step on it with out looking at the RPM's only focusing in the SI 2 feet at my right and pouling away , As my car started to pick up speed very fast I forgat to keep a eye in the RPM went sodely I felt a jorking , I look at my RMP and they were reading 7000 + , the RPM safety did not kik to I reach the 7000+ RPM, At soon that the happen I slow down back to 60 mph and drove easy all the way back home thinking that If I had made any dameg to the motor or not, My car has only 740 Milles and I'am afraid to hask to any one in the dealer about this, PLease some one ...................

The jerk was the fuel cut, and you should have it checked out if anything different in the way it drives is happening by the dealer or a shop.

Hey Nate5023 Thank you for your respond, Wath I'am realy consurne is to know if you or any body think's That I my cause any dameg to the engine by doing this that particular time , I havent may this a habite it only happen that day and the car has not show any sings of any problem!!!

I don't think it will be that big of a deal if you haven't done it a lot, and also it probably didn't because, of the rev limiter.

what kind of engine is it dude?

several mitsubishi engines have the rev limiter set at 7000 rpm

at least mine does this - 4g15 DOHC Fuel injected

fuel cut bro....you need somethin to get rid of that, a brain chip will modify fuel flow. fuel press. regulator and safc too....anyway, what happened to S.I.?[:-]
