Pretty straight forward question: What exactly is the similarities between the 2008 Lancer and the Evo X? I know it shares the same exact engine, but does it have the same type of pistons, cams, valves? And since the Evo X will have CVT, is the CVT in the 2008 Lancer able to hold up with the amount of torque and HP that the Evo X is pushing?

In my opinion

They arelike brothers while the Evo X is the the older brother the Lancer is the youneger brother of Evo X.

I think Mitsubishi really purposely built the Lancer for those young tuners or car enthusiast that cannot afford the Evo X but similar engine and body style is all the die hard Mitsu fan ever wanted.

first, the evo will not have a CVT. It will have a dual clutch automated manual (similar to VW/Audi), and later a regular manual.
it wont have the exact same engine, it will have the same architecture. It will be basically the same, except for the pistons, crankshaft, balance shafts, and misc. other pieces (including the turbo, obviously).
third, only the basic chassis will be the same. All brake and suspention componants will be Evo specific.

So you can pretty much order OEM parts for the Exo 10 from a parts dealer and install them on to your car? In turn pretty much making an Exo X without the AWD.

do you have any idea the cost of that?
it would cost twice as much to build one as buy one.
besides, a 300 HP front wheel drive car is not a "good drive".
