Hi Guys my brother has bought an used Lancer GLXI 1997 ,and when he starts the engine the SRS light appears and keep on while the car is running.

Does anyone knows what maybe the reason for that??

im pretty sure thats for the restraint system, like airbags. maybe one has a problem. if not try reseting the battery an seeing if it stops

 

I doubt that a battery reset will work

the SRS has a sensor module that checks the status of the system whenever the car is started

the problem may be that the sensor needs a cleaning

the car is in fact 8 years old so dust and other stuff prob had affected the sensor

the sensor would come on and stay on to indicate an error

 

for safety, check your srs sensor / air bags.
