Default turbo help...

Whats doin guys, Im new to the forums, and I have a few questions. I have a 2004 lancer ralliart 5 speed, and I am about to do a full turbo upgrade. I got a garret gt25r with lightweight internals, and an internal waistegate. Other than the major parts (i.e intercooler and such), what else will i need to keep her healthy? I have friends who have done upgrades on VW's and Lexus's who are going to help me, but I want to know everything I am going to need. Any help you could give me would be great.

your going to a bigger fuel pump and larger injectors to keep up the fueling...
also probably want a throttle body upgrade...
new clutch (a stronger one to cope with the power)
new exhaust if you currently have the stock one

then the electronics side of it all... best to go a full programable ecu

in a nutshell thats pretty much it...

From what I understand, it's a little different with the MIVEC than a standard 2.4 due to the variable cam profiles ( intake/exhaust). Go to www.roadracemotorsports.com.
They sell a kit for the 2.4 MIVEC, so it will list everything that you will need to upgrade your N/A to a turbo.
Good Luck!
I don't think it's listed, but may want to consider a LS for the front end to help with traction off the line.

Wouldn't you need to upgrade your pistons?

no, the MIVEC's can handle the boost unless you start getting crazy. I think the RRM "shop" Lancer was running 14-17 on stock internals for the last couple of years- they(RRM) can give you a lot of help. When I was modding my Outlander 2.4 MIVEC I went to their shop and dove in their R/A turbo Lancer- it was fast! I talked to the owner for quite a while about modding the 2.4 and what it can handle- it was a good discussion.
