Default 2000 Mirage Question

Whenever I turn my key to start the car, the horn goes off. I just got the car two days ago from a private seller and he mentioned nothing about an alarm. Any thoughts?

Do you mean the horn goes off when you turn the key into the "crank" position and stops when you are no longer cranking the starter, or does it continue to go off like an alarm would?

I have this problem, and it continues to go off after the car has started. Any thoughts? I've got a month to fix this before I have to go through inspection. PLEASE HELP!

I have a 2001 Mirage and mine started doing this same thing when the mornings got real cold. Now every morning I have to go through this big ordeal and wait, sometimes more than 2 hours, before I can start my car without the alarm going off. My kids have had to miss school several times because of this problem. A mechanic wants to charge me around $100 or more to disconnect the alarm but I just don't have it.

Anyone know how I can fix this on my own without putting out a lot of money?

Thank you in advance.
