Actually there was a lot of help to get it narrowed down.. As i have said before on other auto sites.... get enought heads together, there is no way you can not fix your problem. I know i will be back some day... take care.

to the person who sent me an email on the first week of dec. if you did not get the email back. here is the answer to your question.. we could not find a way to test the distributer under a load. and yes it did pass the test in off posistion. I really had narrowed it down to the only solution with tons of help to be the dist. breaking down under load.(and lots of parts changes)thats why you probably can slowly bring up the rpm's and its ok and when you open the throttle like your going for broke... then it boggs out and will die out. junk yard fix for 75.00 since the new ones are way up there.. and just for grins.. it still running great. and if not mistaken that distributer fits multiple engines and year ranges. just got to watch out.. there is a difference between the 2.0DE model and the 2.3. good luck
