I realize this is probably a long shot but I am going to try anyway. I just bought my daughter a used 01' Mirage and the radio code keeps flashing 'off'. I would like to get this radio working for her if possible. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance to everyone. Here is the info:

The dealer will now the code or just change the car radio there is a cheap one in Best Buy installation is free and DUAL is the name brand of the car stereo.

 

well ive called Mitsubishi and now theyre saying that the code i have is the correct one for my car and now theyre saying since its not working they might be something wrong with my radio i think its ridiculous and now i have to take it to a dealer where they will charge me for whatever is done! UGhhhhhhhhhhhh

 

Buy a new Radio please. don't sweat it out.... it is only a radio
As I told you before Best Buy willl install it for free as long you buy the system at the store or if they charge you for installation it should be only $30.00 plus the $70.00 car stereo. Or do it yourself.

if you go to the dealer it is $50.00 buck to check it out. I think

Call the dealer or search for the other topic with same problem like yours. Someone posted the code for your radio. The another kid has the same problem.

Mirage is a fast car but I can't find parts. I had one almost had 150 hp on it. it was 98 Horsepower before tuned.

 

i would suggest to just get a new radio.. i bought a radio from best buy. only cost me about 330 dollars. with it i can change the basic things pluss a couple of other deals that the stock radio wont have. it also came with a remote. if you are buying a car for your kid, get him/her a radio that comes with a remote, so they wont have to look down at the radio to change something. the radio looks cooler, in some cases like what happened with me, started producing a better sound (i think that was because the stock one was dieing) and best part, it was an easy install, with out having to worry about trouble codes or anything like that. if you have a friend that is good with installing that sort of thing.. i suggest to go out, find a nice radio (NOT A USED ONE) and get it

i say not a used one cause.. well.. when getting electronics, wheels/tires or engine parts.. should never skimp and get something cheaper.. would suck to pay so much for something, it break then you end up paying more to fix it, then you would have if you would have bought brand new. on some things you need to spend money to save money.

 

He might not have the budget in buying a new car audio system. If the old works pretty good and all he needs is the code. Sweat it out!

 

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage DE Coupe and the battery died. Now the radio says CODE. Ive been searching for the code for 3 days now with no luck. Can someone help me please!!

I am also a new member and I tried the code from the previous post but it did not work.
