Exclamation '00 Montero Sport Solenoid Issue

Hey, obviously I'm new here but I have come in search of some advice about my beloved car. So recently I've had a little issue with shifting from second to third and some fluttering while in third, then suddenly hit hard and the N light blinked and my check engine light came on. Limped home and got the P0755 code. Shift solenoid B, makes sense.

Anyways, I want to ask if this is something I can replace myself or must I bring it to a mechanic? I would rather not get pushed into paying big bucks to replace a 100$ part. As far as I understand, this Solenoid is inside the pan? Also has anyone else had the same/similar issue and had to replace the entire tranny? That would be my nightmare... Any direction is appreciated.

Default Shift Solenoid B

Mine has the same issue. I found the part for only 30 bucks on ebay. I will attempt to do it myself. I'm not sure which actual solenoid is B though. I could use help with that information.

Look for manuals in the posts on the top of the Montero forum page. You have to scroll through few pages, but you'll find links to them. Once you find the manuals, you can see exactly which solenoid is the "B" and if this is the job that you are comfortable doing yourself.
Good luck to both of you.
