1984 montero ignition timing
Hello to all,
just bought my first Montero 2 months back, it is an '84 with 4cyl, 5sdp. I've searched the "tech" area and cannot find info on how to perform the timing setting on the truck. It was running strange at times and other times it was okay so I popped the hood and found the distributor lock nut very loose. Now I need to know what degree to set the timing at. I've hand ajusted it but now when I turn the ignition off, the truck runs on for 5-10 seconds after I shut it off, very annoying. Also any carb tuning help would be appreciated, either with link to the right post or brief description of what to look for. I know most of you will probably advise me to get a Weber carb, I've thought about it.
Thanks to all who respond in advance.
