1993 Montero Leaking coolant at back of block
hi guys/gals, first let me say i would have searched the archives but this forum does not return any results for anything that i search, not sure if its down or what but here goes, just picked up a nice Montero, but the bad boy is leaking coolant from what apears to be where the heater core hard line goes into the engine block right above the center of the transmission bell housing, looks like the engine will have to be pulled just to fix this leak unless anyone else has any ideas about those block sealers.

Hello!
Had the same issue in my 1998 Montero.
Since I'm in PR, I don't need the heater; just installed a u-shaped hose, and finished! No removal of engine block is required, at leat in mine. It is a tight fit, though, so if you have a buddy with skinny arms and hands, you might get it done cheap and fast!!!
Best regards,
Jorge

that would have worked if it wasn't the feeder line but it was, i used k&w nanotechnology sealant and it worked like a champ, took forever to do all the steps though, i just changed the passenger side valve cover gaskets, wow what a pain in the ****, i had to chisel the old gasket out of the cover it was like rock candy, guess that explains alot of the smoke bareling out the back and under the hood, now to do the drivers side
