1999 Montero key reset???

1999 Montero key reset???
I have a 1999 Montero diesel automatic and the ignition key will not start the car now. The key needs to be reset and I only have 1 key. The nearest dealer is 4 hrs away ( I live in Costa Rica) it is also my only transportation.
Can someone please help on how to reset the key???
