Hello everyone, I am a new mitsubishi owner, i just purchased a 2001 montero sport LS. The truck has 90000 miles on but the dealer where I purchased it had just replaced the timing belt, water pump, transmission service, engine oil, brakes, and it was throughly serviced. So far the I love the truck, but I have a few questions regarding the 3.0 V6 engine in that truck. With proper maintenance and well taken care of how many miles can I expect to get from that engine? Is it also true that montero sport is being discountinued for 2005? any help would be appreciated, thanks and have a good one!

 

if properly serviced you can expect 200-300k if you have it that long. my first mitsu had 180k when I traded it ( man I miss her ) an I have no doubt someones driving it today. it was a 91' model

 

THanks for the info, definately looking forward to keeping it for a long time. Luckily the dealer gave me a short warranty and I noticed that it was leaking oil so they are going to fix it for me. They will be replacing the rear crank oil seal and the oil pan seal, thanks again
