Can anyone please help!! My car temp is reaching high on idle after 5 min. I have replaced temp sensor, fan switch sensor, thermostat, flush radiator, and the relay fuse. There is always coolant in the radiator. Not sure if this is anything, but the top radiator hose is hot, and the bottom radiator hose is cold. And also, when it gets hotter, my radiator fan does not spin. I dont know what else to check. I am starting to think it is not really over heating at all. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

 

Either the water pump is not pushing coolant properly, or the radiator flow is impeded.

 

Is there any easy way to check if the water pump is functional without having to tear apart the whole car? Also I bought an aftermarket temp gauge to see if my stock gauge is actually working. Having trouble installing it though. Anyone please help!!!

I'm willing to bet the stock temp sensor is working fine.

 

Is there an easy way to check to see if my radiator is clogged? I would like to test before I shell out the $200+ to just buy a new one.

 

Unhook the hoses, and pour water down it to see how easily it runs through and if there's any crap in it.

I bet your PCB has failed, its a common issue. I did just what you have done and in the end even when the temp gauge was at full hot, it was only at 190. At full cold during start up the needle would go to hot so it's not really overheating, just the PCB gone bad. I'm going the route of an ext gauge.

Thanks for all the help. Really appreciate it. I also bought an extended gauge, driving for about 20 min. The gauge reads around 200-220 is that normal? What would the temp be to considered overheating?

 

Run with the AC turned completely off and see if the gauge behaves better. Does your AC get warm when the car isn't moving?
